History

We can trace our origins back over 200 years, but keep looking forward.

Cordus Law traces its roots to a former legal practice (Heptonstalls) dating from 1812. Robert Heptonstall expanded the firm between the Great War and Second World War. Another four practices were added before the end of the twentieth century. The practice increased its litigation services and from the 1980s started to specialise in personal injury claims. Over the last 20 years the firm has developed a leading reputation in the field of industrial disease.

In 2020 HH Legal acquired Heptonstalls and in April 2022 Cordus Law was born out of HH Legal/Heptonstalls. Heavy investment in modern technology means we continue to provide the very best client care experience while retaining the human touch. We serve clients throughout England and Wales with lawyers specialising in personal injury but predominantly industrial disease. Thanks to the loyalty of our clients and word of mouth recommendations, we continue to expand and look forward to the future.
